In Dante scholarship, there have been few problems as widely debate as questions of Muslim influence on Dante. Asin Palacios only study on the subject, with the controversy it aroused, has definitely left an impact on subsequent research which cannot be ignored, though its positive contribution is still very much under debate, even Luciano Gargan and Maria Corti studies proved a significant relation between Dante and islsmic influence. The main accompliment of Asin Palacios theory of Muslim influence on Dante eschatology is that of presenting Dante and his work in a new light. After the appeared of this study Dante can no longer be discussed from the point of view of Sanrw alone, but rather must be seen as participating intimately in literary syncretistic era. Likewise, the philosophical content of Dante's Comedy can be seen in its proper perspective only if philosophical synctretism which is so essential an aspect of the European Middle Ages is taken fully into consideration.
