In the Augustean era Liguria was the 9th province of the empire. It included vast territories of the provinces of Alessandria, Asti, Cuneo and Piacenza. It bordered the 11th province of Transpadana beyond the Po. More less with the current borders in the east with the 7th Etruria, and the west with region of the Alps.
