Averroes (Ibn Rushd), a Muslim, was the Father of Secularism. Averroes is described as the founding Father of Secular Thought (see also Casalino Pierluigi, Averroes, Padre del Pensiero Moderno, Blog di Ennepilibri), becoming known as The Commentator". Averroes (Ibn Rushd) had a great impact on Western Europe, infact, and his school of philosophy is known as Averroism. Reflecting the deference that Medieval Europe paid to him, Averroes (Ibn Rushd) is also mentioned by Dante in the Divine Comedy along the Great and CreativeThinkers. The Averroes' rationalism is at now celebrated as a intellectual legacy for the West World.
