Hegel, Machiavelli and Hobbes.

Among the political masterpieces of the modern age, only Hegel's "Philosophy of Right" has the breath, the conciseness and the firmnes of design of Leviathan of Thomas Hobbes. From the writings of Machiavelli, it is possible to extract a coeherent philosophy of man and society, and a larger and more subtle on than might be gathered from some of his admires, who seem bent on a taking as narrow a view of him as his detcractors have done. But that philosophy, was never put together by him of this two important political works, one, "The Prince" is a short essay on a limited theme, and other, "The Discourses", though rich in content, is a commentary on another book.
