Fascism and modernity

Fascism was above all a reaction to the spiritual, social, political conditions of modernity in a fundamental modernist key. Fascism's promises of palingenesis trascended the modernity itself, and renegotiated some of conventional demarcation lines between aesthetic modernism and modernity.
