ISLANDS (IN LIGURIA)

The islands that face the coast of Liguria are; of the small and very small five, la Palmaria, il Tino, and il Tinetto (little more than a reef) in front of Portovenere, the islet Bergeggi between Vado Ligure and Spotorno, and the island Gallinara between Albenga and Alassio. The northernmost islands of the Tuscan archipelago, Gorgona and Capraia, the first being of Livorno while the second is autonomous, were once under the sovereignity of Genoa.
