Sassello, a summer tourist spot a few kilometers from Savona, known to day for its biscuits, has a very interesting history because aftere having belonged to various different lords in the middle ages, in 1564, it passed on to the Genoese allowed them alla their privileges (for example, the Genoese judge could judge only in cases not covered by local statutes) and didn't even bother to insist on the use of the Genoese Seal for documents.
